LimeWire forced to shut down

Somehow I missed this but last week LimeWire received a cease and desist order. The injunction has effectively shutdown the LimeWire servers.  This spawned from a lawsuit initiated by the RIAA and coincidentally their website was later hit by a DDOS attack.

A federal judge in New York issued an injunction on Tuesday that will essentially shut down LimeWire, the big music file-sharing service that has been mired in a four-year legal struggle with the music industry. The company and its founder have already been being found liable for potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in damages. More at New York Times….
